Welcome to the heart of the historic Locmaria district, the birthplace of Quimper faience. The Quimper Island Counter is set within an environment shaped by centuries of artisanal craftsmanship. This emblematic district saw the development of workshops and manufactories, making faience a central element of its identity.

Located on Place du Stivel, facing the Odet River, the Island Counter is housed in a landmark building that once served as a place of life and gastronomy, at the heart of this faience heritage. This historic setting, open onto the river, naturally reflects the values of Groix & Nature: transmission, craftsmanship, and a deep connection to the region.

Designed as an extension of the workshop on the island of Groix, the Island Counter is an immersive space where fine grocery meets island dining. Every detail highlights the cannery’s recipes and showcases local producers, in a sincere and committed approach.

The fine grocery area holds a central place in the experience. It offers the full range of Groix & Nature recipes: seafood rillettes, spreads, soups, ready meals, culinary oils, and gourmet gift boxes. An invitation to extend the tasting experience at home and rediscover the flavors of the island.

True to its regional roots, the selection is also enriched with carefully chosen Breton products: local beverages, sweet and savory specialties… all reflecting the richness of the terroir and regional expertise.

Designed as a space for discovery, the grocery invites visitors to wander, exchange, and be guided, in a natural continuity with the restaurant experience.

The cuisine at the Quimper Island Counter is based on a deliberately concise menu, evolving with the seasons and daily arrivals. It highlights seafood, as well as the expertise of local partners: market gardeners, bakers, brewers, and Breton artisans. Special attention is also given to different dietary preferences, with vegetarian dishes offered depending on the season.

Among the must-try dishes, the lobster burger perfectly embodies the identity of the place: a soft brioche bun, generous lobster meat, enhanced with kari gosse mayonnaise, and served with baby spinach and red onions. A recipe that is both indulgent, refined, and accessible—now truly iconic.

The menu also features seasonal dishes inspired by the cannery’s recipes and reimagined in the kitchen, always with a strong focus on product quality and well-balanced flavor pairings.

The Island Counter comes to life throughout the day along the banks of the Odet. During the day, it also offers afternoon treats, perfect for enjoying a sweet break with pastries, accompanied by coffee or a hot drink, in a warm and relaxed atmosphere.

In the evening, it transforms into a place for sharing, with a selection of tapas designed as gourmet interpretations of the Groix & Nature universe.

Prepared with seasonal ingredients, these dishes invite convivial tasting, to be enjoyed with local beers, wines, or cocktails, in a lively and welcoming atmosphere, with late openings on Fridays and Saturdays.

A brunch is also offered once a month on Sundays, providing a generous and indulgent escape. Featuring savory recipes inspired by the sea, seasonal products, and sweet treats, this monthly gathering is a special moment to share with family or friends.

The Quimper Island Counter is designed as a true place of conviviality and exchange. Throughout the year, it hosts monthly creative workshops: food & wine pairings, floral workshops, culinary discoveries… all experiences that extend the Groix & Nature universe.

The venue also hosts occasional events, exhibitions, and gatherings, in connection with the artistic and cultural identity of the Locmaria district.

Finally, the Counter is available for private hire for professional or private events: cocktails, product launches, tastings, team meals, or tailor-made evenings. A warm and inspiring setting, ideal for sharing unique moments.
