Organic beets from Groix, island market gardening expertise

Meet our market gardener, producer of organic beets on the island of Groix

In the heart of the island of Groix, the fertile soil and mild Atlantic climate provide ideal conditions for market gardening. It is in this privileged setting that Isabelle and Yves Guelou, passionate market gardeners since 2005, grow organic beets that combine authenticity and respect for nature.

Coming from a family of organic market gardeners, they continue to practice diversified market gardening with mixed farming, ensuring ecological balance and sustainable local production. Their cultivation methods are based on carefully selected farm seeds that are perfectly suited to the island's soil. Grown without pesticides or chemical fertilizers, Groix beets are distinguished by their melt-in-the-mouth texture, natural sweetness, and rich aroma.

At Groix & Nature, we enhance the organic beets grown on the island of Groix in a gourmet recipe: Groix Beet and Organic Coral Lentil Spread. Combined with organic garlic, a touch of French honey, and raspberry vinegar, they offer a sweet and tangy flavor, enriched by the creaminess of the coral lentils.

We also work with Isabelle and Yves for their Groix chili peppers, which we incorporate into some of our recipes. Discover their work in our article Discovering our chili pepper producer on the island of Groix.
